What is the Teacher Training about
The teacher training is aimed at people who want to work with the target group of parents in a mindfulness and compassion-based way; be it in a counselling, therapeutic or educational capacity or by leading courses in Mindful Compassionate Parenting.
The training “Mindful Compassionate Parenting (MCP) – stress management and self-care for parents through mindfulness and self-compassion” developed by Jörg Mangold is a preventive course for parents. He has designed it based on the special combination of his experience as a father of a family, from over 25 years of parenting work in psychotherapy with families and in child and adolescent psychiatry, as well as his own mindfulness practice and work as a mindfulness teacher over many years. It is developed on the basis of the evidence-based and proven mindfulness-based formats MBSR, MSC, Mindful Parenting and PNT (Positive Neuroplasticity Training) and is specifically geared to the special needs of parents in everyday family life. MCP is recognised by the health insurance companies as a prevention course and is subsidised, provided that all the requirements of the course management are met.
The training provides the neuroscientific background, an in-depth experience-oriented development of the concept and, above all, plenty of space to practise teaching the central course elements in teach-back groups. Participants receive a teacher certificate as well as a comprehensive print and audio material package with which they can independently offer “MCP – Mindful Compassionate Parenting Courses”. (From 2022, certification will follow the MCP training).
